Mission Statement
The Foresthill Friendship Club is a social organization that provides the Foresthill Community with Services and Financial Support. We are non-profit, non-secular, non-political, and are dedicated to developing closer inter-community relationships.
History
The Foresthill Friendship Club began in 1975 when there were only 58 families in Todd Valley. Originally, the purpose was to get acquainted with our neighbors. As needs were recognized, we began helping organizations in Foresthill.
In 1978 we created and sold our first cookbook. It sold for $3.00 and all of the profits went to the Foresthill Safety Club. Volunteers in the Safety Club provided free Ambulance and Search & Rescue services to the greater Foresthill area. Five more cookbooks followed in 1981, 1984, 1990, 2002, and 2010 to continue our support to the Foresthill Safety Club.
Through many hamburger dinners, and Sunday brunches $6,000.00 was raised toward the building of the Todd Valley Fire Station. All property owners were asked for contributions. The Friendship Club donated the stove, dishes, eating and cooking utensils. The dedication of the firehouse, built with volunteer labor, was in 1982.
Over the years other Foresthill causes have been supported by the Friendship Club. These included families with a loved one stricken by cancer, Girl Scouts, students attending leadership conferences, Sober Grad Night, Foresthill Library, the Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween activities as well as many other local requests for funds. We have also contributed to local Food Drives and Toy Donations at Christmas.
We continue to support volunteer activities in the town of Foresthill California and have fun doing it. Our main fundraisers have been the Holiday in the Pines Craft Faire and Heritage Day, where we have a club booth.
